I lived & worked in Hawthorne, Ca. during the time the Beach Boys were starting to hit it big. They came into the drug store where I worked quite often. And they were just good ole down home boys...no big heads! That may have come later.

It was a treat to hear them last night. I really enjoyed it.

Me and Sis used to love the beach music as we shimmied in our beach bikinis back in the early 60's. Always love their 60's style and music-cars, beach, girls, school and teenage love. What a time!

right, because there is such a cache of great artists these days, like Bieber and Lady Gaga, who looked like she got her face caught in a fish net. The Beach Boys may be old, but funny that their music is still as popular as ever. Go figure. Will that be the same story for Chris Brown? Wouldn't whip out your wallet on that one.

seeing the beach boys perform together for the first time in decades was a highlight of a grammy awards show that left more low lights than high lights...having been a fan since their early days..and knowing their history so well..seeing them perform..sounding so incredible....was just mesmerizing....the beach boys rocked the house!!...what a performance !!....they sure are the true grand-daddy's of rock and roll - true superstatrs and deservedly so....

Hopefully their LAST performance together. It was terrible. I prefer to remember them as they were 50 years ago when they still were able to sing.

that's your opinion, Randy. The ones that sucked were the other guys (Maroon 5 and Foster the People) trying to cover their songs. I've seen lounge acts do better.

along with newer members Bruce Johnston and David Marks

Well that answers who the other guitarist on stage with them was. David Marks was only with them a very short time when Al Jardine left the group temporarily. He was only 14 at the time and was kind of out of his league. Surprised really that he was there. I wonder if they considered bringing Glen Campbell up there as well. Didn't he fill in briefly after Brian stopped touring only to have Johnston come in full time?

Actually I though that the group that performed just before them was awful. It made the BBs sound better than I had expected. No Carl Wilson=no Beach Boys.

I saw them perform a couple of years ago in Temecula, CA, and were they great!

Love the Beach but,Neilsen needs to get their facts straight ,,,,saying the Beach had the most top 40 billboard hits at 36...........the Beatles had over 40 top 40 Billboard hits in the 1960's......

Maybe Reuters reporters could do a little more research before they write an article. The Beach Boys' Bruce Johnston and David Marks are not "newer" members of The Beach Boys. Marks was with The Beach Boys in 1962 -- replacing temporarily Al Jardine. Bruce Johnston joined around 1965 when Brian was beginning to suffer from severe anxiety. These two men are veterans of the band, as would have been, Glen Campbell, had he joined them on stage. The "newer" members -- had they been in attendence would have been someone like Blondie Chapin and Ricky Fataar. But, Marks and Johnston -- no. Marks was virtually an original member -- he wasn't with them for a long period but he is on the cover of early albums. Johnston has been with them for 47 years -- and that can not qualify him as a "newer" member Reuters. Just do some freaking research before you write an article. Journalism 101.

Always loved them, but just not the same without brother Carl. He could sing the best out of all of them.
