Oh ya... LOVED "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" (I think that was the title) when I was around 10, but Barney Fife ruled!
I loved this man. He was so endearing and lovable, and a great comedienne. This world will be a little less bright, now that he is gone.

BOrb- Didn't Dobb Knottts marry Thelma but later divorced because he find out she had been with both Goober and Gomer? And then she married the the richest man in Marberry-Lloyd the Lloyd barber. It was said he and Aunt Bee or Aunt Bug had a thing going.
I love his Knotts Barney Farms Jellies and theme parks.

No...Loyd was not an entomologist, but goober was secretly married to Gomer in a Hush-hush ceremony by Mayberry's principal theist, Father Whirligig Beetle. Andy could have performed as justice of the peace, but given his conservative stance on "Man and Woman" marriage, was completely left out of the loop. Aunt Bee, AKA "Aunt Weevil" was assigned as chief damselfly nymph administrator and team leader for all apple-pie larvae infestation investigations. She later took on the additional burden of testing all canned fruits and vegetables....so when you are consuming those jellies you adore, remember why they are so pure and bug-free...the legacy of Aunt Bee.
Bpigg- On top of all her duties as chief apple -pie larvae inspector Aunt Bug also held the elite position as Sheriff Andy's CSI (*um Stain Investigator) . The duty consisted of monitoring how many times Opie tossed a jaque during puberty. After divorcing Lloyd the lloyd Barber she married Otis the town drunk and opened up the "Maybuggery's Mongo Adoption Agency. " Formally managed by Howard Sprague city planner and county clerk. ( He later came out the closet when dating Helen Crump's twin lesbian sister after a disappointing coitus encounter.

Bbugg- Howard chose not to toss after close inspection of Heather's ( Helen's twin lesbian sister) scarred labia's and also the discovery of her stained plastic johnson.
