Adios! 'Idol' boots group act, cuts right singer

After the wackiness of last week's semifinal round that saw Lilly Scott among the surprising eliminations, it was a relief that there were no big shocks in this week's "Idol" voting.

OK, most of the show was fine. They cut the right person as the article said. But what was up with this Lady Gaga wannabe Ke$ha?

That had to be the most amateurish garbage I have seen on TV so far this year. Nothing original about it and she doesn't sing that well. Yawn.

What is this Ke$sha person, anyway? I thought it was a send-up of Lady Gaga by her drunken cousin. My son informed me that she's a hot commodity now, but neither one of us could figure out why. American Idol producers should put on a good half hour and leave out the riff-raff.

If Idol keeps inviting crap singers like Keisha, I'm changing channels during their "performance", and maybe for good. It's hard enough to put up with an hour of filler, but if they want me to stick around, for goodness sakes, put someone on that can sing, and is not so outrageously annoying or stupid as this Keisha person(s). I just can't sit through another of these talentless hacks...

Keisha, is Ryan Seacrest pushing her due to he thinks he is a big time D-J on the radio and his will make her a star well Ryan it's not working. Why Ryan and Ellen are on Idol is over my head, neither of them give any strong suggestions because both of them are not involved that deep into the music business and don't know what to look for in a singer. Giving both the boot, would give the show some importance and meaning right now you have two high paid clowns on the show. One who thinks he’s funny with his attacks on Simon and the other thinks she funny by pointing it out that she is guy both make me sick.

All I can say is Thank You AI producers. That group sing was the worst. Felt like I was taking a trip in a time machine and being forced to watch Brady Bunch musical numbers. Thank you for ending that torture.

As far as the elimination..Katie has got to go.

Paige has made it two weeks two long. Lilly should have made the top 12 last week. This week the laryngitis excuse obviously paid off too. There's always next week.

Obviously you missed it, it is a "singing" competition. Lilly could not "sing" and Paige can. That is why you see Paige and not Lilly.

I totally agree with the author of the article. Too many dumb questions asked by Ryan to kill time. This elimination show should only be a half hour. The judges keep saying the same thing week after week! They can't think of any "new" words to use to describe. They all stumble with their responses. Also agree with William - who the heck is Kesha - Lady Gaga rip-off?? Crazy outfit - eye glitter. Come on. Thought Lilly Scott should still be there. Don't like Crystal and her folksy sound.

"Yo, dude" "uh, yeah", "like you guys, I mean . . ." etc. is really as ignorant, dumb and crude a way to start out a critique of a sweet young girl, whose family are anxiously listening intently and supportively in the audience.  Real class there, Randy.  Me thinks perhaps Randy needs to have a long talk [lesson] with Simon on the subject of speaking etiquette in public.

Love Crystal & Siohban - their singing is effortless and powerful. Also love the jewelry that the American Idol girls wear - http://www.etsy.com/shop/BodaciousBiddies

Pathetic year for Idol. I can not believe this is the best America has to offer after tens of thousands try out and weeks going by. All of the bottom 3 should have gone...and most a LONG time ago. I agree that the show drags out with meaningless talk, sometimes down right stupid advice to the performers, and just plain poor song choices and lack of real talent and stage presence from the performers. Lets cut to the chaise and go with the best 5 and shorten the painful season. This should be the END of Idol, this is definaely NOT the best talent ever.

I have to disclose that I never finished watching my recording of Tuesday night's show, so I missed the final three performers. But, based on what I did see I didn't think Lacey would go yet. The song arrangement was unusual, but not all that bad.

Also, I come to the competition late as I did not watch any of the Hollywood week shows and just bits & pieces of the audition rounds. That said, this was my first week hearing these singers, and Siobhan's rendition of Paint It Black just sounded horrible to me while the guy who did the reggae song was enjoyable and kind of cool.

        LOVED seeing David Cook back!

And I love how the article brought up "in case you are one of three who hadn't heard it yet" regarding that song by whats-her-name (if I try to refer back to the article I will lose everything I typed). I am one of those three. Never heard of her, don't listen to that stuff, and I don't know who the other female singer was. Not my cup of tea.

Thank you AI for pulling the group sing. Talk about your weekly cheese slice. But for gosh sakes, cut the results to 1/2 hr. Think of how much more money in your pockets you will have if you cut production by 1/2 hour!

Tyan Secrest isn't worth a nickle, but he thinks he's worth millions and so do the producers. Replacing him would be a great place to start the reform.

For me personally, I like Lacey. She had a unique sound and reminded me of Yael Naïm. I would have preferred seeing Tim Urban go. His attempt to turn the big stage into a bad campfire sing-a-long was hard to watch. I guess teenage girls like the looks of him.

I wish Idol would do us the service at the end of each broadcast, of playing the singing performance disconnected from the video; forcing the viewers to listen instead of watching. It might have an impact on the voting.

On the way to work today, I started listening to my downloads from last season. Mostly Adam, but I have a few Allison and Kris on the mp3 player. Once again, I am struck at what a dull group they selected this year. Yes, there are some talented singers in the bunch, but I hear singers of similar talent on cruise ships. There's not a single one of them that interests me enough to actually want to buy and album, or even download a single.

Was it really only a year ago this week that Adam Lambert did "Ring of Fire" and just confuse the hell out of everyone? This bunch should be doing advertisments for Ambien.

Am I the only one who is getting annoyed with Tim Urban, when every time he is told that he's safe he takes a step back and acts like he's going to pass out?? It's starting to get old.

Goodness so many negative people! Have a good time with this and let the kids do the same. These young people are brave for even trying out, much less singing in front of millions of people. Be as gentle with them as you would your own child. I do think some could break out of the mold though.

This year does have some very good singers with promise, after a bit of experience and guiding. To summarize: Tim, Paige and Katie should be gone. Lilly and Lacey both should have still been in contention. There is something about Crystal that rubs me the wrong way. The group performances are lame, and should be eliminated. The results shows should only be one-half hour with only one star act. And never, never have that Keisha - Lady Gaga wanna-be on again! She was ridiculous! And may give the contestants wrong direction, because they're going to think that is what the judges want to see!! Scare-ry!! I'm sorry she never got to perform on Michael Jackson's tour, but (with great respect to Michael Jackson) things happen for a reason!

Also, is it just me or are we seeing a softer side of Simon this season?!! Afterall, he's in love!

Actually, I liked Lacy. I thought her performance of "Kiss Me" was adorable. Agree with all who say that this is the worst group ever. I still can't put names to faces half the time, they are all so unmemorable. I don't care for Crystal, she should be singing in a coffeehouse somewhere. This group is all so homogenous--where's the rocker? Where's the country girl? No one stands out at all.

I agree it is the weakest season every. I like the show but usually because there are so many good singers that it is hard to say who should win. This year it's all tepid. And please do something with the chopped up dreads on Crystal.
