I hardly heard of this movie, but I guess popular with the people is not a factor

Hurt Locker was about REAL life, Avatar was overblown production fantasy....

Nobody saw the movie. It went to DVD very quickly. It only did 12 Million. It lost money big time. SAG members got it way wrong.

Avitar... I met a couple in their 70's who said they'd seen the 3-d version 4 times. For me, I forgot I was watching a digital enhancemen

The Hurt Locker sure deserved it more than Avatar anyway.

Inglourgious Bastards was my pick because of Brad Pitt and his supporting actors. All 3 of them deserved awards and one of them got one!

Yes, it was the best film of the year

It was about people, not special effects.

Anybody who thinks Avatar should have won needs their heads examined. "Best Picture" goes to the best film, not the most popular.

Julie and Julia. I was also hoping Meryl Streep would have won for her role as Julia.

Avatar was a unique movie-going experience. Hurt Locker was an excellent movie. I don't think Cameron is very popular in Hollywood.

Avatar was by far the best. The actual movie goers voted with their attendance. Too much Hollywood politics.

HL was basically a documentary. Avatar was a wholly imagined world with extraordinary detail and stunning visuals. Avatar deserved to win

Hurt Locker not a great film. They wanted to give it to a woman for a change.

PRECIOUS should have gotten the award. It consisted of a better all-around adaptation (as its screenplay win demonstrates).

Inglourious Basterds got robbed! Tarantino took his shtick to a new level and made a consequential film - a film in the truest sense.

By far the best film of the year, regardless of how few people saw it in the theaters. It was a riveting film, far better overall.....

Avatar was an animated half cartoon movie with no discernable message.
