Lil Wayne may be heading for jail, but the hip-hop star told Rolling Stone not to worry about him while he's behind bars.

why would a felon get an ipod to help him serve his time? Lets quit molly coddling these individuals and have them serve "REAL" prison sentences not give them free room and board.

I agree wheels460, this just goes to show that our judical system is not working. Serving time should not be pleasant at all. They should be educating inmates so that they can find something else to do with their lives rather than what they did that landed them before a judge. Jail should be a nightmare with everyone be locked down most of the day and their should be no television, no sports equipment and no way people can form gangs.

As for this rapper, he may be saying that he is looking forward to jail, but I see him referring to his iPod as a security blanket. They should take that away for him to think about what he did.

What exactly did he do? And why do you think you have the right to imprison this man for carrying a weapon? We already have 3 million people behind bars, a far greater percentage than anyone in the "civilized" world. One more thing: anyone, even you and that other doofus on here, could end up in prison for some charge or another, no matter how ridiculous or trumped-up, and even if you don't have the vision to see that, you had better think about how people inside are treated and affected by the time they are released.

Whatever he did, he pled guilty (admitted guilt) and he doesn't seem to have a beef with it. Why do you?

Yep, trying to keep it civil, and even this is not apparently working.

Bring back the chain gangs. If people knew that when they went to prison they would have to work 8 to 10 hour days busting big rocks into little rocks for the entire time they are incarcerated, they would think twice about committing a crime.

The system will not do that because at some point, bleeding hearts decided that working was cruel and unusual punishment. Let me see here, working is cruel and unusual punishment but executing prisoners is not. Does this mean that all of us that are not incarcerated should not work because it is cruel and unusual punishment to do so?

The penal system in America is very messed up.

Good point ! Let them mow grass and pick-up trash on the highways and fill potholes.

Get the whole story frederick. First of all, he changed his plea to guilty. He also has several other pending drug and weapons charges to face. I don't know about you but I am glad a bus load of people loaded on pot, ecstasy, and cocaine with automatic weapons is off the road for a while.

I am disgusted about the celebrity double standard when it comes to jail though. No special treatment should be allowed.

One more thing frederick, another reason we may have more people in prison than in other countries is because in other countries prison is actually punishment. Some have such horrid conditions that it would make someone even gravely desperate think twice before committing a crime.

What an idiot. Rap exists to make money and exploit young people. None of those guys cares one bit about the damage to their culture they are causing. The fact that they are horrendous role models is unimportant to them as long as they get what they feel is theirs, at any cost. What a putz. Wait, let me put my sentiments in a language Lil Wayne can understand: Hey bro, U kno U hav to go. Man up cuz u kno u did wrong. Dat is how i c it. R U laughing now. U hurt da yung by sellin a bunch of junk. U gots what commin to U dats fo sho.

That's not why Hip Hop (rap) exists but it is why jews have exploited it for money.

Little Waynie is a fag. He wouldn't last two days in general population. I have been to jail. The list goes 1. Child molesters 2. rapists 3. fake thugs. I'm sure there is a brother doin real time right now that wouldn't mind adding a year to his sentence in order to make the claim that he made little bitchy waynie cry. Real gangster he tells Katie Couric? Real gangsters don't shoot themselves dumbass. The fake tear tattoo is the best though. What a fake. This dude has been in the hiphop seen since he was 14. He ain't never had to do no real dirt to survive. He just knows what he may have seen other people do. If dude was in my jail I would @!$%# him up just for sayin dumb@!$%# on records. These clowns ain't gangsta. Gangsta ain't even cool anyway. I grew up in the projects. Ain't nothing good about the hood. If it was then white folks would want it. I don't see white folks moving to the projects.

What a douche. Lil Wayne, you are not going to jail. Jail is where you go for a DUI or a bar fight. You are going to prison because you are a felon, not because "God is putting you through it" you moron.

And I look forward to seeing you go there you nut. Hopefully someone will beat your ass down and then have their way with you. Then you will know what real jail and doing real time is like. But alas, it will be a cream puff detention center like Paris and the other out of touch idiots get sent to.

"Looking forward to jail"? Are you kidding me? This just is another proof that the "hip hop culture" is a scourge on America (also the world) and should be eliminated. I bet he's looking to harden his "street cred" for his (c)rap lyrics. Why does he get an ipod? Doesn't he know that you could easily make a weapon out of one? How is this allowed? The club med prisons for celebrities in America is sickening. he should be in the general population like the rest of us would be. Let him be somone's "special friend" and see how much he'll look forward to a return trip. This shows the attitude of the hip hop culture .... and it's destroying our youth.

There is something wrong with this story. Rikers does not allow cellphones, in fact it does not allow VISITORS to bring any electronic devices to the facility. You have to leave them in your car before you take the bus over the bridge, if you don't, they send you out.

About lil Whine...he is a punk, if he needs his iphone as a security blanket, he may have some problems in Rikers...LOL...Scum like his are horrible examples for kids.

Lil Kim and Martha Stewart got more balls than lil Whine, now thats funny.

These comments are reflective of the stupidity of this man. How anyone could buy something he produces is beyond me - I will/would not because of his look, his attitude, his intelligence. Oh I know you people will say I am a racist - no I discriminate against stupid people (about 85% of the US population). He looks and acts like an idiot and anyone who says I am looking forward to jail cannot be sane. If he thinks he is gonna continue making music there I hope the warden circumvents that - screw his rights, he gave those up when he broke the law. And I do not believe he'll like it when he gets there which makes me happy. Maybe he'll be singing because he is getting pounded from behind by one his brotheres there - I am sure that will change his mind.

The utter lack of outrage from most at this comment on this board is astonishing. This fool doesen't even care about the thousands of young black me he'll be taking to jail with him. It's black peole like him who are so damaging to black society. He'll go to jail and get out and life will continue as normal for him but the young black men who try to follow in his foot steps lives will be, for the most part, ruined. Plus he made the comment in Rolling Stone which is a magizine targeted toward white readers mostly. Now he has just confirmed some bigots centiments toward how ignorant black people in America are. Garbage like this is not helpful to us.

Lil Wayne is going to jail because of new York has the most arse backwards laws on Earth. NYPD came on his tour bus where he was performing, found a gun that he has had all the time, REGISTERED, but because it's New York, they act like he shot 30 people.

The man is President of cash money records and his net worth for 2009 is between 60 to 80 million dollars. He has been with cash money since it was formed over a decade ago.

He has acheived more in life at 26 than you will ever acheive in your entire pitiful, jealous, broke life. lol

lil Wayne made well $30 plus million the last 3 years alone

Well I don't know anyone who looks forward to going to jail. I would be avoiding it as much as possible. But then I guess if California offers PS3, Ipods, and all that jazz, then he probably doesn't mind. These celebs now days are getting off with a slap on the wrist. If I recall correctly, Lil Wayne is going to jail for drugs in his touring bus. Now let that be you or I and with the amount that was found in his bus, we'd be looking at years and be charged with drug trafficing, intent to distribute and whole list of others to make the sentence longer. This is just a shame. Our Justice system if really pathetic. I believe if you knowingly do something wrong and you get caught, then you ought to pay the cost. Kind of Like Wesly Snipes... He knew he was wrong with his taxes and yet he went quietly. Didn't ask for a reduce sentence or nothing. Just being a real man about it and doing his time. And yet he's a celeb as well. But I guess it's different with rappers... I don't know. I just think it's a mess.

In your haste to post that lie, you didn't even read the story.
lil Wayne is not going to jail for drugs on his bus.
Lil Wayne is going to jail because he had a handgun on his bus that he has registered in every state that has common sense laws.

              Again.
NYPD searched his bus, found that gun, and under the loopy coward New York laws, you can get up to 4 years just for having a gun.
New Yorks wimpy DA's, and Mayor acted like they had just captured Bin ladin or somebody.
He will be out in 8 months.
