RIP Jennifer Jones. Beautiful Lady...watched lots of her movies.
This is a great loss to many of us classics lovers. They just don't make 'em like this anymore, but we will still have her films, and thank God for that. I thought that her best was Since You Went Away. Just my opinion. Rest in peace, sweetheart.
A beutiful woman and a fabulous actress. My favorite of her films is Love is a Many Splendored Thing. A beautful and heart wrenching love story. To this day I can't watch it without a box of tissues nearby. Rest in peace Miss Jones.
I didn't always like Ms. Jones characters in her movies, for e.g. "Duel in the Sun", but I have always remembered her performances because she made the characters so real and alive. My favorite is "Since You Went Away", (but that's because I really liked Claudette Colbert's performance too!). I'm glad she had an interesting life after the movies being involved with the Norton Simon museum.
ehorth: I agree with you, but those were the roles that she was supposed to play. The wife in "Grey Flannel Suit" often got on my nerves, but I believe that was the role that Ms. Jones was assigned, and she played it exactly like it should have been played. Overall, I think that Since You Went Away is among the most under-rated movies of all time. It really taught me what it must have been like to be on the homefront during WWII, and it will stay with me for the rest of my life, thanks to Ms. Jones and the rest of the outstanding cast. They were the best.
