And wise up America !

Those of us who go to work every day and pay our taxes will be paying for our 2008 mistake for years to come. Together though, we can make sure Mr. "Change You Can Deceive In" is a one term mistake in 2012!

As for Sarah, "Hope and Change" never looked so good!

Sarah thinks that because she can see across the water to Russia, that it means she's ready for highest office in the land. Wow, I guess that means anyone living on the border of Mexico is qualified, too.

Meanwhile, I'm laughing at people who support for president a ditz that thought that the bailouts were to help people who were concerned about the healthcare reform that was needed to shore up the economy.

Wow. Good luck with that.

Change in 2009 is a little hard to answer, though we're all still fine with hope. Certainly there is evidence of bigger change and improvement over the next 7 years, but nobody thought 10 months would be enough time to turn around the previous 8, which were some of the most miserable in America's young history.

Let us continue our hard work, and by late 2011-early 2012, we can address the question of change. By then, we'll have a better indication of the recession's end, homes restoring their value, wars ended, affordable health care for almost everyone, and people back at work.

One thing that can be declared in 2009: it feels so good to have an intelligent, hard-working President in the White House. Beyond that, we'll just have to see which of his goals have been achieved in the coming years.

It was Shatner who first took aim at Palin. Seems she can now give it right back.

As for Obama, lets us all remember, as the daily debt figures show us, Obama had and has NO executive experience and voted 100% of the time along party lines, which his policies continues to show us all..

He is connected with the corrupt Chicago Daley gang; for 20 years had an infamous racist narcissistic spiritual adviser; has close ties with two convicted felons Tony Rezko (www.suntimes.com/.../353829,CST-NWS-rez23.article) and Williams Ayers an unrepentant radical terrorist who bombed government buildings.

These are the people Obama hangs around with so take a real hard and long look at all these czars and other non elected individuals Obama has gathered around him. It will continue to get much worse for all Americans over the next 3 years unless he is impeached.

The Republicans created this fire with their deregulation, pro-industry agenda and yet they are still criticising the fire department for how it tries to put out the flames. Pathetic. And yes, some Democrats were bought by the banking industry and played their part too - more shame on them. But for the Republicans to try and paint this economic crisis on the current administration is vile. No one has that short a memory (even Amercians).

Did you really expect everything to get magically better Jan 21st? Recovery takes time and sadly jobs are the last thing to rebound. I've been under employed for almost 2 years now so I know what its like, but I feel better than I did last year when I was unemployed. People are not hiring here, Las Vegas, when the new places open up they way over hire then about day 85 they start doing massive layoffs. The unemployment numbers have slowed and the economic indicators are improving. This recession was coming on for way over 2 years with no indication of improvements or movement from the previous administration. Like a speeding train it takes a slow down, stop and reverse.

Now closer to topic if the McCain/Palin ticket won I'm betting things would be worse for most and she would be talking of quitting by now.

Obama received his Law Degree from Harvard, graduating magna cum laude, after attending Occidental College and receiving his BA from Columbia. He was also a State Senator for 4 years before becoming President. Not to mention he was President of the Harvard Law Review while he was there.

As for Palins college record, she attended five different schools(outlined below) and took 5 years to get a BA degree in Communications and Journalism with a GPA of less that 3.5, since all that is known is that she didn't graduate with honors. After that she was became Governor of Alaska for almost two years before resigning. Do you still think Palin was more qualified?

I know College isn't everything, and doesn't guarantee success, but to say that she is more qualified is ridiculous. It is a travesty that someone with a records such as hers would even be able to get so close to the Presidency. She is merely coasting on her looks

        Greg,
When Palin was asked about the war in Iraq when running for VP, her answer was,"I don't know anything about that war." Yet she sent her son off to fight there and continues to criticize EVERYTHING, from the war, to climate change and the economy! Her husband sat in the governor's chair more than 1/2 the time she was elected to serve. Obviously the seat was too hot for her. She is very fickle! She tries to get attention in whatever way she can and when what she has chosen gets too hard, or boring, off she goes. They said she cleaned house as governor. She certainly did! She fired everyone who was doing the work of Alaska and hired 5 of her high school girlfriends, none of whom knew anything about their new job. Did she think that's what she could do as president? She has found fault with whatever her speech writers could come up with to make it sound like she knows something, but she showed us that, when running for VP, she couldn't come up with one answer that made sense. McCain and a lot of people have been fooled by this pretty face. Looks do not a serious candidate, make!

The words may not be EXACT, as you demand, but my jaw dropped in disbelief that she could possibly, #1, send her son off to a war she knew nothing about; #2, run for VP with this war going on and #3, could be governor of a state and not be knowledgeable of a war her country was in! No, it's not quoted anywhere, obviously covered up since it would immediately ruin her chances for VP. You are calling me a liar, which I resent! If you prefer to back her, fine, your choice. But there's no way that woman should be running for office in MY country, and YOURS!

McCain released his records, as to Palin not releasing her records, she's not claiming to graduating magna cum laude, Obama is, did his grades qualify him for that honor, or was it an affirmative actions award.

Sarah Palin is on the Tonight Show not because she wants attention - but because the Tonight Show knows their ratings go through the roof when she appears. Why can't Liberals grasp the concept that they won the election? The DNC realizes they need a "villain" to keep their voter base energized.

Without George Bush to kick around, the DNC attacks Sarah Palin. Their Liberal lemmings fall right into place like they're in a religious cult. Don't any of you think for yourselves? This neurotic obsession with Sarah Palin - a woman who never raised your taxes, nor passed a single bill that affected you (unless you're Alaskan) - can't any of you see yourselves for the DNC puppets you've become?

Well of course tv shows put people on that will boost rating, that's their business!? Trust me the left knows they won, she's the one in denial and keeps throwing herself out there for publicity. No one needs to villainize her she does a fine job herself, her bi-polar obsession with the media. If she really wants to be left alone then stop putting yourself out there, she's the junkie, they just report on her like they report on a bad accident, carnage sells.

Its the blind obsession of the right and the willingness to protect and promote her that is the real cult/puppet/lemming situation her.

Remember the title of Palin's book Going Rogue, most of which was written by a ghost writer. By definition, a rogue is a crook, a charlatan, a con-artist, a fraud, and a liar. No one in his or her wrong mind, not to mention his or her right mind, should believe anything that this rogue tells you, because rogues reserve the divine right to decide when and when not they will tell the truth.

Palin proves that "there's a sucker born every minute." *

*Supposedly this quote was attributed to P.T. Barnum, a 19th century con-man, but it was really said by PT Barnum's publicist.

GregL - The President is none of the above cited in #13. Disagree with his policies any time, but stop lying and throwing insults that have no basis.

He is an honorable man. If you don't like his views, say which ones and why. Just be sure they are truthful comments if you are calling someone a liar yourself.... Otherwise, your hypocrisy is plain for all to see.

Actually 58% think she is qualified. But 65% would consider voting for her for President. So 13% do not think she is qualified but would consider voting for her anyway. About the same percentage who support Cheney and half that supported Bush's policies.

O'reilly - I think M54 means the folks who can't remember how many houses they have (McCain), who even after paying high taxes are still deciding which custom Mercedes they are buying or whether they should cancel their yacht order - you know, those folks.

Not all wealthy people create jobs - some inherited their money and just live off investments....and many of them have achieved nothing other than holding onto that money.

How arrogant too to just assume that M54 is unemployed or soaking the system. I pay lots of taxes, but would be willing to pay more for viable programs.

Not everyone is a greedy SOB that is consumed with protecting their bloated fortunes, and not everyone who thinks the rich should contribute more is a bum.

Your generalizations are lame, and are a window into your soul....not a great view from here...

Those who pay 90% of the taxes also control 95% of the wealth, so they should be paying an equal amount of taxes.

Join the public outcry against the money influence in Washington. Palin and he same Republican rhetoric obviiously does not work. The media is not showing how public discontent is closing down pay day loans operations stealing from community or car title loan operations that too should be brought in line. Politicians will change when we demand it and get in the streets again and demonstrate or work behind the scenes. Screw Palin and Tiger Woods and the rest this media hype nonsense.

Sarah Palin is confident, intelligent and capable and will make it to the presidency as our first woman President. You on the left just can't stand it that a feminist won't make that happen for you first. Being elected President isn't restricted to liberals, even though you don't like it, many of us here in the USA still have conservative values and admire Sarah Palin for expressing them for us. I guess, "tolerance", which is what the left is always screaming about, is only when someone agrees with you, not someone having an opinion that is different from the left side.

Thanks for my first real laugh of the morning! Who said it was restricted? Tolerance goes both ways. I enjoy good debate with several of my conservative friends, who are open to others opinions. We've all seen other points of view and maybe even change ours some because of it. Now its the closed minded ones, the ones that will not tolerate someone else's opinion or lifestyle, the I'm right your wrong worship only what I worship ones, don't deserve my tolerance.

Normal misses the point - It's not about tolerance of well-considered views or factually supportable positions. It's about whether the woman is qualified to do anything in higher office. I too have many conservative or moderate friends, and we have no problem with our differing views.

Having conservative values is something to be respected, but it does not mean a person is ready to develop foreign policy, work with economists to resolve a world economic crisis, or decide matters of national security.

Sarah couldn't even handle being Governor - she quit to make money. I guess that is good Conservative values too....

They will probably proclaim her a national savior because she took on that bully Bill Shatner. We'll just let them play together in the sandbox so we can continue to fix the Republican mess.

No, but since Obama and Co. were elected we've been subjected to about all the bright ideas we can survive. I don't want another theorist who thinks he's got a better idea, I prefer one who will look back at what used to work and give it another try.

So lets have a discussion. What do you like about her political stances? What about her record as Gov impresses you? GW had plenty of executive ecperience [sic] look where it got us, so her even less makes her better than him? Do you really accept that it was ok for her to quit on the people who elected her to lead her state for four years? What do you think of the Bush doctrine? Does Putin flying over Alaska 1st really give someone foreign experience? Is it our President ignoring the majority who want health reform and a public option or is it the GOP? Your the one who is crying immaturity and a lack of discussion but you're not bringing up any questions just calling people names. That "guy" your speaking of has accomplished more in 2 months than the previous guy in his last 2 years.
