Too many, and where's Fleetwood Mac? Love Journey, Eagles, Aerosmith and can't choose among them any more than picking a favorite child.

There are no bands I enjoyed that were formed in the 1970's.

    Journey

Hard to top Journey. Always thought the eagles were "OK" but highly over-rated. Village people are a joke, shouldn't be on the list.

      The Eagles

Chicago, Doobies, AND the Eagles. Oh, and Three Dog Night and Journey. Too hard to choose a favorite.

A lot of your nominees were actually formed before the 70's so I don't know why they are on the list. My favorite: Talking Heads

To answer Opus' question, Fleetwood Mac formed in 1967, LONG before anyone ever heard of Stevie Nicks. Long live Peter Green!!!

Rush - not only were they making great music in the 70s, but the 80s, 90s, and even now they continue to create new music.

Tower of Power. I first saw them dancing with their horns through the audience on the Midnight Special.

Although Rush had its debut album in 1974 they actually formed in 1968.

No black bands in the Age of Soul? Delfonics, Stylistics, Spinners, O'Jays, Earth, Wind & Fire, War, hell, The Jacksons.

What about the Allman Brothers, Jethro Tull, and (very late 60's) Blind Faith?

Three or four on this list could also have been my choice ...

                  KISS

The disco scene never did it for me. For my money, KISS was it. Not to mention all of the "cool" merchandise that they sold.

Rush formed in 1968 - too soon. I vote for Emerson Lake and Palmer (1970)

For me, test of time has been Aerosmith, they're shows have gotten better with age

Tough choice between the Doobies and the Eagles but the Doobies never got stale or formulaic, so they get my vote.
